Thank you for stopping by my site, I really appreciate it!
An even bigger “Thank you” is in order for taking the time to get to know a little more about me.
My Origin Story:
I grew up in a typical middle-class family in Central New Jersey.
As I got older, I started to understand how the world worked and realized the number one thing my parents fought about was, MONEY.
It always just seemed to be the major bone of contention. At a young age I didn’t realize they were missing something.
I guess that is what started my interest in finance and money management.
Through internships at multiple financial firms, I was exposed to financial planning and one day a light bulb went off. I knew I had found my calling when I learned that I could actually become a professional who helps people build a plan for their money.
Of course I assumed my parents had such a plan or met with someone who had a plan right?
Oh boy I was wrong, see, that was what they were missing…..a plan.
They thought being able to pay your bills, was having a financial plan.
My parents were completely winging it.
They made some of the biggest decisions of their life without any analysis!!???!!
I thought how can this be??? I must help.
Just starting out, I spoke to anyone with a pulse about their financial situation to try and help but really to learn. Most people were older than me, I mean way older.
I realized quickly that MOST PEOPLE DID NOT HAVE A PLAN, LET ALONE a CLUE about their finances!!
My parents were not unique.
Maybe you are that way?
Maybe you know people like that? Is that why you are here?
Either way–I was hooked.
In effort to become an expert , I earned the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation in 2007 to demonstrate my knowledge of all things financial planning.
I wanted to be the ultimate financial resource to my parents and friends and clients.
The good news is all of these things have only made me better. More self aware. More experienced.
I started this blog to share my knowledge and experience with all of you. To cut through the crap and give real advice to help you make better financial decisions.
I just have one little disclaimer: Every article or post is not going to apply to you specifically, but each post is designed to get you thinking. And thinking differently is the only way you are going to get out of the financial mess you are in today!
